The idea for this came from images I’d seen in magazines from the 1970s that were inspirational in their own right, the main one being a handmade Christmas gift guide I thought was genius! I could have sworn I’d seen a llama somewhere in one of them, but even if I can’t find it again the idea stuck and now here we are. I had made a larger size to get an idea of how to make it but felt it was a little too big so I tried this size and found it to be more ideal. The name of the main yarn color was called “newsprint” and it was the last of it I had, so I made a bunch of granny squares with it that ended up being just enough for this little fellow. I used matching black, white, and different greys to put the squares together into a blocky, but snuggly, little llama shaped pillow (or stuffed animal depending on how you look at it.) It is a combination of black, white, and grey with just a touch of beige to add a little interest. I tried to capture the many different patterns with different lighting and positions so as to better showcase the character of the llama.
This very cuddly llama pillow measures approximately 19 inches high, 16 ½ inches wide, and 5 inches thick.
